I spent most of yesterday at the computer...ugh. I have more to do today! Ugh. The problem is that it is so beautiful outside and the weather is perfect for painting. So, I think I might play hooky for a bit and go paint for a bit. I see on the news Spring has not sprung for much of the U.S. - so, time for a little imagination... What is your favorite part of Spring? What do you miss most about it during the winter months? Not just the obvious, but the details... the little things...

Wisteria is the first thing I think about when someone mentions Spring. We have one wisteria in the front yard and another in the back over the boy's fort. It is glorious for a few weeks then turns into a regular old looking vine.
.
Spring also means fresh herbs. We tottered down to the farmer's market a couple of weeks ago and all kinds of veg was coming in season.

Keep on working!

Spring for me, is the start, and the smell. Every February several mock orange trees start very early and the perfume of their blossoms fills our neighborhood with a sweet and magical aroma, filled with the promise of it.
What I miss in winter is all of the small things. birds nesting, lawns greening, my few, mistreated roses blooming as if they were the best kept on the planet, ...all of the the sounds, smells and promises of a new start, after a long, and vicious Southern California Winter. Brrrrrr!
-JR- :-)
In the winter, I miss the birds - We have so many in the backyard now, and I love their singing, especially the little soft gray ones with rosy chests. I miss watching the hummingbirds & butterflies, as they are not around (or, at least, as often) during the winter.
Of course, the spring flowers are amazing. Great colors, scents, etc. I do love that part of spring best of all!
