We spent the weekend in San Diego. What a great place! Our hotel was just a couple of minutes outside of Old Town. We spent the first day wandering around Old Town, visiting the Whaley House, and enjoying a fantastic Mexican dinner. We spent the entire second day at the zoo and Balboa Park. We had a ball researching different animals and taking over 1600 pictures! We spent the evening at Seaport Village. The following day we tromped around the Natural History Museum.
How great are research trips!?! Where are some of your favorite spots to do research?

Europe when we can go, but definitely Sand Diego & San Francisco when we must stay closer to home. Such cool buildings, wonderful views, and great people-watching opportunities - great mix of characters.
Sometimes there are places close to home. I just discovered the neighborhoods around Pasadena's Art Center. The homes are beautiful and unique, and the trees and vegitation are lush. People are always out enjoying their surroundings, and I always get the impression that there are stories composing themselves all around me as I pass through the area.
