Monday--Morning

So,

It's Monday, and I am a little edgy this morning. There is so much work to do this week. I took the weekend off.

Dum, dum, DUM!

Okay, it was great to just play with the boys, the dog, and Beck and do, um... NOTHING! (Okay, I had too much to eat at her sister's Easter get together, I suppose that was something) But, now I will have to pay the piper. I am sure that I will have Muzzawhumps throwing pine cones at me today - it's that kind of Monday.

I guess today I am thinking about those situations that you get yourself into when you choose to live, taking time out of a busy schedule, to be a mom or dad, husband, wife, whatever... Then you have to pay the piper come Monday morning!

What things make it worth it to "put off work" in your life?

Off to the hut!

Family, family and occasionally a mental health day. We work to live, not the other way around. Nothing is more important than that.

Don't worry, it will all get done. You'll see! I find most creatives work in sprints. It can get frustrating thinking that you can go full speed all the time and finding that some days you just don't but by Friday I bet there will be a long line of things crossed off your "too much to do" list.

Almost anything to avoid grading papers for students! I admit it - I am inherently "work" lazy. I love teaching, but I practice "work avoidance" by cleaning the house or ironing or whatever. I guess that's not so bad, as doing housework clears my brain, de-stresses me, so maybe I'm a better (nicer?) grader after that.
